Die Europäische Bausparkassenvereinigung ist ein Zusammenschluss von Kreditinstituten und Einrichtungen, die die Finanzierung von Wohneigentum fördern und unterstützen. Sie verfolgt den Zweck, in einem politisch und wirtschaftlich zusammenwachsenden Europa den Gedanken des Erwerbs von Wohneigentum zu fördern, die Interessen der Mitglieder gegenüber den Institutionen der Europäischen Union wahrzunehmen, die Informationen der Mitglieder über den Fortgang der europäischen Einigung und die dazu von den Institutionen der Europäischen Union ergriffenen Maßnahmen zu gewährleisten. Darüber hinaus unterstützt und intensiviert die Vereinigung die gegenseitige Information und den Erfahrungsaustausch der Mitglieder untereinander auf den Gebieten der Wohnungsfinanzierung und der Wohnungspolitik.
